The Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development (FALD) encourages departments to apply for the opportunity to host an impactful visiting professor. FALD will co-sponsor a visiting professorship up to $5,000 to support honorarium, travel expenses, and visiting professorship event expenses, along with administrative support to deliver a high-impact, engaging faculty development experience.
Eligibility and Selection
All UNC School of Medicine departments are eligible to apply (excluding last year’s recipient). Competitive proposals will:
- Identify a speaker with relevant experience in engaging faculty and staff with various career interests and backgrounds
- Have clearly articulated learning objectives for attendees
- Identify a speaker/topic that is innovative and/or interactive and promotes leadership growth
Timeline
- Application Deadline: May 31, 2026
- Selection Notification: June 2026
- Event Window: February 2027
