UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine Sponsored Event & Engagement Guidelines
Due to the rise of COVID-19 in our community, the following guidelines are now in effect for UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine sponsored events and engagements until further notice.
Teammates who have committed to attend events and engagements as UNC Health or UNC SOM Representatives:
- Hosted at indoor spaces: These events should no longer be attended. This includes meetings, luncheons, galas or other sponsored events on or off-site.
- Hosted outdoors: These events should be carefully re-considered.Carefully evaluate attendance and ensure local health department guidelines for social distancing and masking are met. This includes tented events, golf tournaments, fitness races or other sponsored events, on or off-site, where a distance of six (6) feet apart can be maintained wherever possible and no meal or mask removal is required.
UNC Health and UNC SOM will adhere to guidelines/requirements of local health departments and NC Governor’s orders. Bringing back prior attendance restrictions is a precautionary measure in an effort to limit exposures. We believe this direction is in the best interest of public health and is essential for the safety of our teammates and communities. We will continue to monitor and will communicate when restrictions are lifted.
Additionally, all social media posts (photos, tags, etc.) referencing UNC Health or UNC School of Medicine partnerships or events, made by teammates or community partners, must be approved in advance by Jamie McGurk, UNC Health Social Media Manager.
