Kim Boggess, MD, has stepped down from her role as Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and will focus on her role as Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and as a UNC Health provider. A search will begin in the near future.

Boggess started her role in the Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development (FALD) office in July 2020. Her work focused on faculty affairs including oversight of the appointments, promotion and tenure process, recruitment and retention efforts, and execution of aspects of the UNC School of Medicine’s Strategic Plan Forward Together.

“We want to thank Dr. Boggess for her hard work and dedication to our faculty and to faculty affairs. We greatly appreciate her contributions to our FALD office and the School of Medicine,” said Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Jennifer Wu, MD, MPH.

Boggess has been a member of the UNC School of Medicine faculty since 1999. Her clinical focus is high risk pregnancy and critical care obstetrics, and she has a special interest in the impact of oral disease on pregnancy outcomes.
