Paul Neimeyer, JD, has been named chief legal officer at OU Health in Oklahoma City. He will begin his work in the role the beginning of August.

Neimeyer currently serves as senior university council for medical affairs for UNC-Chapel Hill. At Carolina, he focused on supporting the legal needs of the UNC School of Medicine and the other health science schools.

Prior to his time at Carolina, Neimeyer served as general counsel and corporate secretary for VCU Health System in Richmond, Virginia, where he established the health system’s legal department and oversaw its workers’ compensation and insurance programs.

Neimeyer received a BA in international relations from Duquesne University and a JD from the University of Pittsburgh Law School. He also received an LLM in taxation from The Georgetown University Law Center and is a member of the American Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association and the National Association of College and University Attorneys.

Neimeyer extends his gratitude for the opportunity to support the mission of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and specifically the UNC School of Medicine.

“Wherever I may travel through life, I will always travel with tar on my heels,” Neimeyer said while reflecting on the impact Carolina has had on his professional journey.
