The 2023 – 2024 Carolina Cares, Carolina Shares State Employees Combined Campaign launched Sept. 28. The campaign aims to strengthen North Carolina communities and provide UNC-Chapel Hill employees with an opportunity to make a difference across the state and nationally.
Historically, Carolina is among the state’s top giving institutions. As of the end of November 2023, UNC-Chapel Hill employees had given nearly $200,000 – the highest among universities and state agencies.
The UNC School of Medicine has a tradition of giving back to the communities it serves. For employees who would like to learn more about how to participate, the 2023 Giving Guide provides a list of charities both locally and nationally. The guide outlines hundreds of charities that employees can choose to support and donations can be made by the online form epledge using Onyen/password. Employees who would like to support the work of the SOM/UNC Health Foundation may use code 2558.
Giving Tuesday will be on Nov. 28, and the campaign’s ePledge platform closes at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31. The minimum pledge amount is $3. Questions about School of Medicine participation in the campaign can be sent to Martha Modlin, the SOM CCCS division leader.
