Made possible through a generous grant from Frank C. Wilson, MD, to promote discussion and learning around professionalism, particularly regarding medical education, the Frank C. Wilson Professionalism Forum has featured a variety of medical professionals since 2011.

This year’s speaker is Marcia Wofford, MD, professor of pediatrics and associate dean of educational excellence at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. In recent years, Wofford has focused on the experience, personal and professional development, and well-being of students in healthcare education.

Wofford will present on “Early Introduction of Professionalism and Character Development in Medical Education” over two sessions.

The afternoon session, “Catching character and encouraging connection in an inaugural med school course,” will take place from 12:00 – 1:00 PM in Bondurant Hall G030, with a boxed lunch provided. The evening session, “Professionalism is not a monolith: times change, and so do people,” will be in MacNider Hall 321 from 6 – 7 p.m., with snacks provided. Both sessions will stream virtually during the event.
