It is with mixed emotions I share that I have accepted the position of President of Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Coastal Market in the Wilmington, NC region. My last day at Rex will be January 7.
The last 10 years with UNC Health and the past 5 years at UNC Health Rex have been the most rewarding of my career. Not a day went by in which I was not grateful for the opportunity to lead our team. During my tenure, we continued growing to meet the community’s healthcare needs, got through the pandemic as ONE Great Team, and were regularly recognized for outstanding quality and patient safety, all due to your commitment to our patients and each other. I will forever be proud of my time at Rex.
I take great comfort in knowing we have an excellent executive team that will continue to lead Rex into the future. Dr. Burks has asked Kirsten Riggs, our Chief Operating Officer, to serve as interim president until a successor is named.
