Zishan Mustafa, MHA, has been announced as the Senior Associate Dean of Administration for the UNC School of Medicine. Mustafa will take over the role from Karlina Matthews, MBA, who was named Chief Financial Officer and Vice Dean for Finance and Business Operations for the School of Medicine earlier this year.
In this role, Mustafa will oversee administrative practices for the UNC School of Medicine as well as the Offices of Human Resources, Information Technology, Space Planning, Sponsored Projects Administration Office and Professional Service Contracts and Affiliations. He will also work closely with leaders across UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC Hospitals and Faculty Physicians and UNC Health to accomplish organizational goals and support employees.
Mustafa is joining the School of Medicine from UC Davis Health where he served as Chief of Staff for Finance / Strategy and prior to that as Executive Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration with their School of Medicine. Before his time at UC Davis Health, Mustafa served in a variety of administrative leadership roles at Johns Hopkins Medicine. He received his MHA from George Washington University and his BS from right here at UNC with the School of Public Health.
