SOM IT wishes to remind you about an important update regarding our campus Wi-Fi network, eduroam. To ensure uninterrupted access, please take a few minutes to reregister your devices before January 23, 2025. Here’s what you need to know:
- The current eduroam certificate will expire on January 23. Devices using this certificate won’t connect to Wi-Fi until they are reregistered.
- Reregistering ensures a secure and encrypted connection to the University’s resources and the internet.
- The new certificate will be valid for four years.
- To reregister, visit wifi.unc.edu on your wireless device and follow the steps after clicking the eduroam configuration button.
- Connecting to eduroam provides the strongest encryption and authentication standards and facilitates:
- Access to University resources like Heelmail and network drives.
- Seamless connection to the worldwide eduroam network when visiting other participating institutions.
If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out by visiting help.med.unc.edu to start a chat or submit an IT help ticket.
