Dani Burns, MBA, has been named the associate chair for administration for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. She began her work in the role on August 1. Burns most recently served as a business manager in the SOM Office of Finance and Business Operations.
Burns first joined in UNC-Chapel Hill in 2016 as a university program specialist in the Department of Finance and Business Operations’ Finance and Research Support Team (FiRST). In 2018, she began supporting the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine as its finance lead, overseeing all aspects of finance and research administration.
Currently, Burns serves as secretary of the UNC Network for Research Professionals and is a 2021 fellow of the Association of Pathology Chairs, Pathology Department Administrator Section Society of ’67. She earned a BA in political science from UNC-Chapel Hill and earned her MBA with a concentration in healthcare management from UNC Wilmington.
