UNC School of Medicine teammates met with First Lady Jill Biden, EdD, in Durham on Wednesday, March 20. The meeting was part of the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research.
Genevieve Neal-Perry, MD, PhD, Robert A. Ross Distinguished Professor and chair of the UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, met privately with Biden to discuss women’s health research initiatives at UNC-Chapel Hill and her menopause-related research.
The White House’s initiative was announced in November 2023 with the aim of changing how the United States approaches and funds research on women’s health. More information on efforts related to the initiative can be found online.
