We are pleased to announce that Leslie Burnside has been named Vice President, System Affiliations for UNC Health. In this role, Leslie will provide leadership for our statewide affiliation efforts, working closely with system and affiliate leaders to expand access to high-quality care close to home across North Carolina.
Leslie is well known to many at UNC Health, having joined the organization in 2008 and played a pivotal role in strengthening health care access across the state. Early in her tenure, she partnered with physician leaders to build statewide networks through the University Cancer Research Fund (UCRF) and collaborated with central NC hospitals that later became part of UNC Health. Over the next decade, she developed partnerships with hospitals and health systems across North Carolina, helping eight affiliates join UNC Health in her previous System Affiliations role. Most recently, she led initiatives to enhance patient and provider experience and access, and worked with physicians and Triangle leaders on strategic priorities that helped shape the Forward Together Patient First Pillar.
She received her MHA from UNC Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health and an MEd from the University of Georgia. As a Western North Carolinian, Leslie is honored and excited to return to statewide service as Vice President, System Affiliations.
Please join us in congratulating Leslie on her new role.
