UNC Health has announced several key leadership appointments to guide our developing clinical service lines as part of Forward Together 2030. These service lines will strengthen our commitment to exceptional care, strategic growth, and academic excellence across North Carolina, and will help us achieve our vision to become a leading academic and community powerhouse.
Heart and Vascular Service Line
The Heart & Vascular Service Line will unify system efforts to expand access, elevate clinical excellence, and foster collaboration. Leading these efforts will be Dr. Ravish Sacha, who will serve as system chief for heart and vascular clinical services, and Andrea Gymer, who will join UNC Health as system vice president.
Dr. Sachar brings deep expertise in interventional cardiology and leadership at UNC Health Rex, while Andrea Gymer joins from Novant Health with extensive experience in strategic planning and service line growth.
Primary Care Service Line
Building on a decade of successful collaboration, UNC Health has launched the primary care service line, aimed at streamlining decision-making, enhancing communication, and improving coordination across all service lines.
Dr. Sachin Gupta and Dr. Margaret Helton have been appointed as primary care service line leaders, guiding efforts to expand access and elevate quality in primary care statewide.
Cancer Service Line
UNC Health has officially launched UNC Health Cancer, a comprehensive cancer service line. Laura Kelsey, MHA, FACHE, and Tim Hester, JD, MHA, have been named system vice presidents of cancer service line administration.
Laura and Tim will join Robert Ferris, MD, PhD, chief of oncology clinical services, to form the service line leadership team, supporting the highest standards of quality, growth and cohesion in cancer care delivery. That means growing our cancer care network, fostering new partnerships and expanding access to life-saving clinical trials to serve those across our state and beyond.
A national search is underway for a System VP of Cancer Care Physician Services to support oncology clinical operations.
