The NC Promise Scholarship is a one-time scholarship offer that provides financial support for fourth-year UNC School of Medicine students who plan to enter the fields of family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, OB/Gyn, psychiatry, or general surgery and commit to serving in one of North Carolina’s rural counties.

The scholarship funding was allocated by the North Carolina General Assembly in recognition of the mission of the School of Medicine and the potential impact graduates can make caring for the people of the state. The one-time scholarship will be paid toward debt reduction before graduation. Upon the completion of residency training, the honorees have made a commitment to serve in one of the state’s rural counties that is underserved.

This application is distributed by Financial Aid.
