Southeastern Rural Vocational Experiences (S.E.R.V.E.) was created in 2022 supported through the Novant Health, UNC Health, and UNC School of Medicine partnership. The programs are led through the UNC Office of Rural Initiatives (ORI) in collaboration with community partners and schools in Southeastern North Carolina to develop a future healthcare workforce through the exposure and connection of pathways for students. Programs reach students across middle school to undergraduate educational spaces and seek to provide engagement and opportunity for students to explore healthcare careers.

During the State of our State presentation, students learn more about shortages faced in their home counties and across North Carolina. As part of the presentation, students gain better understanding of how they might find their own Path to Service. Sessions can be developed for middle, high school, community colleges, and four-year institutions for classroom or large group presentations.

If you would like to learn more about the State of our State, please reach out to Nicole Cornett, Assistant Director, at nicolecornett@unc.edu
