John T. Henley Lecture
Senator John T. Henley Lecture and Endowment
Sen. John Henley used his influence in the NC legislature to create the UNC Department of Family Medicine in the early 1970’s. Because of his leadership and vision, the Department has over 40 years of history training family physicians, medical students, and fellows, while developing innovative models, research, and caring for the people of NC. It is now among the highest ranked departments in the nation.
The endowment supports programs and activities, including but not limited to the Lecture, that promote leadership in family medicine.
