IMS Self-Serve Media Kit Request 

Empowering you to create high-quality educational and promotional content on your own schedule.

IMS Self-Serve Media Kits are available for School of Medicine faculty, staff, and students to check out and use for video production projects.

How It Works

Step 1: Watch the Kit Overview Videos to determine which one might suit your needs.
Step 2: Submit a request using the form below.
Step 3: We’ll follow up to confirm availability and arrange a hand-off/check-out time.
Step 4 (Optional): We’ll provide a short orientation session to walk you through the gear.
Step 5: Create your content and return the kit by your arranged due date.

Frequently Asked Questions


The kit is available to current UNC School of Medicine faculty, staff, and students for educational, training, or promotional content related to School of Medicine initiatives.

The typical loan period is 3 business days, but this can be extended upon request if availability allows. 

Yes, you may take the kit off-campus as long as it is used for approved academic or professional content. You are responsible for its safe return. 

No worries! You can request a brief orientation session with an IMS team member. The overview video and Quick Start Guide are also available for support. 

Please notify the IMS team as soon as possible. You may be responsible for replacement costs depending on the situation. 

Pick-up and return will be coordinated with an IMS team member. We’ll contact you to arrange a time after you submit your request. 

We prefer the primary user to pick up the kit so we can review any key instructions. If you need someone else to return it, please notify us in advance.

IMS may offer post-production services depending on availability and the nature of the project. Submit a separate media project proposal to inquire.
