- On the right side, locate the Caption field under Attachment Details.
- Type the text you want to appear below the image.
- Click Insert into Page to add the image and caption.

How to Edit or Add a Caption After the Image Is Inserted
- Click once on the image in the editor to select it.
- Click the Edit (pencil) icon
. - In the Image Details window, locate the Caption field.
- Enter your desired caption text or update the existing one.
- Click Update to apply your changes.
Understanding Caption Storage and Reuse
- Captions are stored as part of an image’s Attachment Details in the Media Library.
- Captions added or edited in the Media Library become the default caption for that image and will appear automatically whenever the image is inserted elsewhere on the site.
- Captions edited directly on a page or post apply only to that instance of the image and do not affect other instances of the same image.
- If you plan to use the same image in multiple locations with different captions, add the image to the page/post first, then edit the caption.
