Web Standards & Policies
All School of Medicine websites must follow institutional standards for ownership, accessibility, branding, and security. These standards apply to all sites, regardless of size or purpose, and throughout the entire lifecycle of a website.
Website Ownership & Accountability
Every SOM website must have a Primary Site Administrator responsible for content accuracy, compliance, and maintenance.
Content Maintenance
Websites must be actively maintained. Outdated or inaccurate content reflects poorly on the institution and creates risk.
Accessibility (Required)
Accessibility is mandatory for all SOM websites and content types.
Branding & Visual Standards
Sites must follow approved branding guidelines and use the SOM WordPress theme as intended.
Security & Data Protection
Websites must not introduce security or privacy risks and must follow University web security policies.
External Vendors & Freelancers
Third parties must follow the same standards as internal editors. The Primary site owner remains accountable.
